Case Study 2

Energy Economics

From an emerging solar company to a province-wide energy brand.

We began working with Energy Economics in 2021, developing the company’s original brand as they established themselves in British Columbia’s growing solar industry.

Years later, that relationship expanded into a much broader creative and marketing partnership spanning web development, photography, film, SEO, advertising, custom software, content, and ongoing strategy.

Today, Energy Economics has completed more than 750 solar installations across British Columbia, with its work extending from residential solar to large commercial systems, off-grid power, battery storage, and increasingly complex energy infrastructure.

Growing alongside the company

As Energy Economics evolved, the role of the brand had to evolve with it.

What began as a solar installation company increasingly became a broader energy business — requiring clearer messaging, stronger digital infrastructure, deeper project documentation, and a more sophisticated way to communicate increasingly technical work.

We worked closely with the team across website development, campaign strategy, content, SEO, advertising, photography, film, and the ongoing refinement of how the company presents itself.

That relationship also extended into new areas of the business, including the transition of acquired operations into the Energy Economics brand and the launch of Okanagan Quality Roofing as a dedicated regional division.

Turning technical work into a clear story

Solar is technical, but the decision to invest in it is ultimately about economics, reliability, and confidence.

Our work focused on making complex systems easier to understand while documenting the scale and quality of Energy Economics’ installations across residential, commercial, industrial, and off-grid projects.

We travelled throughout British Columbia photographing and filming installations, crews, customers, equipment, and active worksites — creating an extensive visual library that could support the website, advertising, social media, proposals, recruitment, and future campaigns.

Over the course of the campaign, that work grew into thousands of photographs and a series of films documenting both the technology and the people behind it.

Building tools, not just pages

A major part of the work has been creating digital tools that help customers understand the economics behind solar.

We designed and developed a custom solar calculator using location-specific production data from across Canada to estimate system performance and model the financial impact of a solar installation.

Interactive charts allow users to explore projected energy costs, system production, financing, utility rates, and long-term payback over time.

Rather than simply telling customers that solar can make financial sense, the calculator gives them a way to explore the numbers for themselves.

An integrated marketing system

The website became one part of a much larger digital ecosystem.

We implemented and managed analytics, conversion tracking, SEO, Google Ads, local search strategy, campaign landing pages, and ongoing content development — continually refining how users moved from first contact through to inquiry.

The work also extended into brochures, proposal systems, business cards, vehicle graphics, email signatures, and other materials used throughout the company.

For Okanagan Quality Roofing, we developed a dedicated website and regional search strategy designed around markets including Vernon, Lake Country, Salmon Arm, and the surrounding Okanagan.
